Peeter Vihalemm (born 11 September 1944) is an Estonian communication scholar, sociologist and social psychologist. He is professor emeritus at the University of Tartu and previously headed the university's journalism department (1989–1997). His work has addressed media systems and media use in Estonia and the Baltic region, and he has edited research collections on Baltic media transformation.
